More than 1,000 citizens participated as volunteers in “Eniwa Scenic Night,” a winter colorful event in Eniwa.The purpose of the trip was not only to experience volunteering, but also to see and feel firsthand the role of the “coordinator” of this effort and the actual activities, including the creation of a system that has been gradually improved every year to run this event, now in its 19th year, and the management of the many volunteers who gather voluntarily.Worries about the lack of snow were put to rest by the previous day's snowfall, and the perfect weather made for a valuable experience.Next year, I hope that our university students will aim to become volunteers who can participate in the planning of the event, rather than just helping out.
